Savitha Sridharan - Founder & Chief Executive Officer

She brings with her a decade of experience in technology innovation and real world experience in social work in India. She was chosen to present her Commitment to Action to Clinton Global Initiative at The 2014 CGIU Annual Meeting to bring light into the lives of billions of people by eradicating the use of kerosene lamps and replacing them with reliable renewable energy solutions. This triggered her to start Orora Global, Inc. as a social business to convert this vision into reality. Savitha, an Indian national, holds an MBA from F.W Olin School of Business (Babson College), Boston, a Master of Science (Computer Architecture) from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Technology (Electrical Engineering) degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Before joining Babson College, Savitha worked in the telecom industry for more than a decade gaining extensive experience with processors. During her free time, she trained to become an ultra-marathoner and fundraised to support several developmental efforts in rural south India including organic farming, relief and rehabilitation of bonded laborers, education and women empowerment.

Sharon Kan - Chairwoman and Co-Founder

An accomplished serial entrepreneur and executive with a passion for developing clean energy solutions and education products. Sharon Kan has spent 20 years growing successful businesses in high potential markets. She was instrumental in developing and leading companies from inception to successful acquisition including Tikatok (sold to Barnes & Noble), Zoomix (acquired by Microsoft), C-Ark (acquired by SSA Global, now Infor), and Demantra (acquired by Oracle). Deliberate in her focus, Kan developed and executed product design, marketing and sales strategies that brought in strategic corporate alliances grossing over $150 million in added value over her career. In 2013, Sharon founded the WIN (Women Innovating Now) Lab. The WIN Lab is a vibrant and edgy accelerator where women create and grow winning companies. Working with aspiring Babson entrepreneurs and faculty to move potential ventures from the idea phase to startup. Ms. Kan is an advisor and mentor of multiple startups in the Ed-tech and social enterprise space, she is an advisory board member of the Entrepreneurship Program at Simmons College of Management, a mentor at LearnLaunchX accelerator, and was a mentor at MIT. Sharon has a bachelor’s degree in Administration from the College of Management in Israel and an Executive MBA from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom and has completed advanced coursework in French Culture at Sorbonne University in France.

John Chaimanis - Advisor on Renewable Energy and Clean Energy Finance

He is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure (KSI), a private equity firm that makes direct investments in clean-energy projects. In 2005, Mr. Chaimanis began working in clean energy finance, which represents the nexus of his business interests with his passion for making a positive impact. After working with regional project developers in the New England area, he joined a subsidiary of Edison International in California where he acquired and developed 250MW of wind energy projects, investing over $500 million dollars. Mr. Chaimanis is catalyst in organizations and a constant growth agent, he regularly advises clean energy startups, and consults with investors looking to understand the clean energy investment landscape. Orora Business Plan Mr. Chaimanis was featured in the 2014 Journal of Environmental Investing Most Influential Investors edition, the Family Office Review, and is the author of an energy investment business case study taught at Babson College. Mr. Chaimanis speaks frequently on the topic of clean energy finance and has lectured at Colby College and California State Polytechnic University. Prior to his career in clean energy investing, Mr. Chaimanis was a founder of a charter school in the greater Boston area. Mr. Chaimanis holds an M.B.A. from Babson College, a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University, and has earned certification from US SIF for Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI).


A recent graduate of the Environmental Technology and Management program through NC State University's College of Natural Resources,  Josh's main focus right now is kickstarting fundraising for the renewable housing projects.  His passion lives in the betterment of human life and environmental health through boosting the presence of renewable energy and sustainable products throughout the world.  He shares our belief in that empowering women and children while innovating with green technology will lead to a brighter future for all.  Josh is also involved with the Peace Corps and has been to 16 countries thus far with plans to work abroad more soon.

Roshan - Ambassador Program Lead

He is a recent Columbia Engineering graduate interested in merging his near life-long interest in clean technology and more recent interest in developmental economics by working with Orora. He has researched novel polymer chemistry to improve solar panel efficiency at the Dow Chemical Co and worked with communities in Ghana to design and monitor sustainable water and sanitation systems with Engineers Without Borders. This fall, Roshan will start work at Locus Analytics, a think tank that maps economic systems of companies and governments. When Roshan is not biking, traveling, or at concerts, he is developing the Orora Ambassador Program and seeking out investors.

Malar Malarvizhi - Director of Orora Renewable Pvt Ltd [Orora Global’s Indian subsidiary]

She is extremely passionate about women empowerment, rural development and health. With her passion for rural development, she is able to develop great partnerships with local women entrepreneurs in rural south India and encourage local entrepreneurs to be very successful. Malar, an Indian national, holds a Master in Arts from Madras University and several degrees in Women Health and Empowerment.

Praveen Mohan - Business Development Manager of Orora Renewable Pvt Ltd

Mr. Mohan helps build partnerships with NGOs, trains and inspire local entrepreneurs about Clean Energy. Praveen is highly motivated and adapts very to different rural communities to make the social change to happen. He never gives up on taking the extra step to provide the best customer service to rural communities, even if it is miles away from an urban city. Praveen, an Indian national, holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Madras and is able to apply his business skills carefully in building out Orora as a social Business in rural India. He is very well networked in the state of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and is able to Mr. Kiran B.C is the Corporate Social Responsibility Expert at Orora of Orora Renewable Pvt Ltd. He connects Orora with the local corporations in India who want to invest part of their profits into rural development efforts in Rural India. He brings with him several years of experience in working with corporations like Intel to invest into rural tourism and rural development in India.
